- Two eighteenth-century German manuscript volumes, recording the officers and ranks of the British and Hanoverian Army

1) Oldekop, Christian Friedrich. "Ancienneté von Ihro Königl. Maj. v. Groß Britt. gesammten Deutschen Trouppen [von 1719 bis 1803]", describing the state of the army in 1719 under General von Bülow, with additional information added by Oldekop from 1727 until 1794, listing the Field Marshals, generals, officers of the cavalry, infantry, artillery and engineers, with, at the end of the volume, a list of officers posted abroad, and the "General État der Chur Hannövrischen Trouppen...seit A[nno] 1705 [...1763]", giving the number of the forces listed, with later additions up to 1783, with later additions and a preface by the scribe Manuke dated 1807, c.500 pages, folio (c.330 x 200mm), foliated in black ink (1-304, including blanks), contemporary tree calf, spine in compartments, German lettering piece, c.1710-c.1814, small tears to covers, but sound
2) "Anciennitée der bey Sr Königlichten Majestät von Grossbritannien und Kuhrfürstlichen Durchlauten zu Braunschw. u. Lüneburg Teutschen Trouppen", under Fieldmarshal A.F. von Spörcken, listing the officers of the infantry, cavalry, artillery and engineers, including officers in foreign regiments, listing the officers with their dates of commission, the second half of the volume is devoted to the history, from their establishment, of the regiments and batallions of Lachevallerie, Hardenburg, Zastrow, Prince Carl, La Motte, Wangenheim, Schele, Kielmansegge, Sachs-Gotha, Prince Ernst, and others, signed by the scribe ("Georg Christian Stuke, junior, Hannover, den 6ten Dec: 1767"), 182 pages, 4to (230 x 185mm), with many other blanks ruled in red, contemporary calf, Hanover, December 1767
