An original cel from the modern Christmas classic.
The animated film of The Snowman was directed by Dianne Jackson (1941-1992) and released in 1982. Writing in The Independent in 1992, Paul Madden noted that 'a special part of Dianne Jackson's talent [was] to capture the spirit of a work but to elaborate it to stunning effect'. The film, produced by the company TV Cartoons, is a widely acknowledged classic of Christmas.
