Description

  • An Italo-Corinthian black-figured trefoil oinochoe
  • terracotta
  • Height 16 in. 40.6 cm.
with high triple handle and rotelles on the rim, decorated in the lower register with two stags, two lions, and a bird, in the middle register with a stag, a bird, a lion, a doe, and two confronted lions flanking an owl, and in the upper register with an owl and two confronted lions flanking a siren, rosettes and dots in the field.

Condition

Some repair to the body and mouth of the vessel, proper right side of the spout restored , paint abraded in areas, epecially on the shoulder.
