12-inch dial with rococo spandrels, matted centre with seconds dial and date aperture, the arch with chime/silent and tune selection dials, signed on a recessed plaque Higgs y Diego Evans, Londres, the massive six pillar three train movement with anchor escapement, playing one of four tunes at the hour with sixteen hammers on a nest of thirteen bells and striking on a further bell,  the earlier case with brass flambeau urn finials, foliate frets, shaped trunk door and panelled plinth, the whole decorated in red and gilt with finely drawn chinoiseries
