 A commode of similar form from Gascogny is illustrated in Gisèle Boulanger, Reconnaître les meubles régionaux, 1974, p.133, pl. 8.

Condition

The top with water stains and separation to boarded construction. Some minor plugged restorations to top. The front board to the top is fruit wood but probably original. Handles and escutchons possibly changed. Minor old worm damage. Scuffing to feet. General old marks and scratches. Good colour patina.
