Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling at the edges and corners. There is an exposed thread of unprimed canvas located 25 1/4 inches from the bottom edge and 17 1/4 inches from the left edge which appears inherent to the artist's working method. There are scattered liquid accretions particularly visible in the bottom half of the canvas. Of note, there is a 4 1/2 inch liquid accretion located 10 1/2 inches from the bottom edge and 2 inches from the right edge which fluoresces under ultraviolet light. Under ultraviolet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Catalogue Note

As editor and later executive editor of Interview magazine (a publication founded by Andy Warhol and John Wilcock in 1969), Bob Colacello was Andy Warhol's right hand man. The present work was a gift from the artist to the sitter and unlike most of Warhol's society portraits, is completely unique. It is the only portrait of Bob Colacello by Andy Warhol which was ever painted.
