Catalogue Note

Founded in 1979, The Andrew Glover Youth Program is a community-based organization that provides alternatives to incarceration and crime prevention programs to youthful offenders and at-risk youths from the Lower East Side and, since 1998, East Harlem. Each year we serve over 300 youths.

Over the years, the Glover Program has saved thousands of young lives and millions of taxpayer dollars. 94% of our graduates avoid re-arrest within the three-year period after their completion of our program while only 28% of all juvenile offenders discharged from the custody of the New York State Division for Youth are able to avoid a re-arrest within three years. And it costs $200,000 annually to incarcerate a youth in a New York City detention facility, compared to just $2,800 per year to save a life through the Glover Program's 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week, life-changing support.
