Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is softer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is very minor wear to the lower left corner tip with a few spots of associated loss and minor cracking to the turnover edge. There is a tiny scuff to the top left outer corner and a few spots of loss to the centre of the right turnover edge. Upon close inspection, there are several lines of craquelure to the left of the shaped part of the canvas on the top edge. There are several further isolated areas of craquelure; one to the centre left of the composition, one in the lower centre, in two places towards the centre of the left edge, and also below the centre of the top edge. There are a few other single hairline cracks in a few isolated places elsewhere. There is a very faint rub mark to the centre of the composition and a longer diagonal thin rub mark to the right of this. There are two faint drip marks; one above the centre of the lower edge and another towards the lower right hand corner. Upon very close inspection, there are a few minute specks of media accretion scattered in the top right hand quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
