Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. There is some evidence of wear in places to the four extreme edges, notably to the lower edge and at the top of the right extreme edge. There are scattered fine networks of cracks in places throughout the composition, most notably to the lower edge where there is also a circular impact matrix on the right side (the majority are visible in the catalogue illustration). There are two small media accretions: one towards the top of the top left quadrant and another at the top of the left extreme edge. There is some further light craquelure to the left side of the black pigment along the lower edge. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a few tiny retouchings to the black pigment in the lower right quadrant. Scattered cvracks in the lower margin and in the top left quadrant
