Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the ivory tends more towards cream and the black to charcoal, and there are softer contrasts between the hues in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. On close inspection there are a few minor spots of wear to the right side of the lower extreme edge and in intermittent places to the top extreme edge. A few light handling marks are visible around the extreme edges. There are scattered rub marks throughout the composition which appear inherent to the artist’s working process and are original to the work’s execution (some of which are visible in the catalogue illustration). There are scattered patches of pigment throughout which fluoresce under ultraviolet light which appear original to the artist’s working process.
