The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonlaity is richer and deeper, with the scarlet ground tending more towards tomato red in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is some smudging around the extreme edges, original to the artist's working process. There is some light wear to the top and lower right hand corners, and a further spot of wear above the white star (visible in the catalogue illustration). Examination under ultra-violet light reveals no sign of restoration.
