Condition
Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is much brighter and more vibrant in the original, with the red tending more towards a bright orange and the pink tending more towards a deep violet in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is extremely minor wear to all four corners and in places along the edges. There is some surface irregularity in places to the purple pigment at the bottom of the composition, most notably in the lower left corner. There is some faint canvas draw in the lower left corner. There are a few small surface accretions and faint handling marks scattered throughout. There is a faint rub mark towards the centre of the left hand edge, one towards the upper section of the right hand edge and two to the centre of the right hand edge and one towards the lower left corner. There is a further horizontal rub mark to the centre-right of the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
