Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly warmer in the original. There are more orange hues in the yellow paint in the upper left quadrant and the browns throughout tend more towards varied shades rich chocolate brown in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition. The work is slightly loose on its stretcher. There are light rub marks to the upper left, right and lower right corners. A further small rub mark is visible to the lower centre of the right extreme edge and there is some slight wear to the overturn edge above. There is a tiny indentation where a staple penetrates the canvas to the bottom of the left extreme edge. There are a few fine and stable surface drying cracks and fine hairline surface cracks in scattered places throughout. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
