Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer and the paper tone is warmer in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The sheet is attached to the backing board at intervals on the reverse. All four edges are deckled and uneven. There is a diagonal crease to the top left corner of the green rectangle and a diagonal tear in the lower right hand corner of the same sheet, both of which are probably original to the work’s execution. The further nicks and creases to the paper collage are all inherent to the artist’s choice of medium and working process. There are two tiny spots of media accretion to the right of the figure’s nose in the pink paper.
