There is craquelure throughout the painting and some slight yellowing to the varnish. There are a few areas of minor inpainting to the sky.

Catalogue Note
The present lot shows the British and Dutch Hongs clearly. The British Hong is depicted with the second floor addition which was built in the early 1830s. However, the stockade across the front of the factories which was built around 1839 is not shown here. See Crossman, 1991, p. 430, no. 16, for a similar view of Canton by Lam Qua.
