One with a fine haircrack to the center, the other in good condition. Both with some stacking wear and rubbing to the enamelled panel in the center.

These plates are finely decorated with a type of border pattern found on English armorial services of circa 1725-6. The thickly enamelled, and somewhat crudely painted flower spray on the rim and abstract pattern in the center were presumably added later to obliterate the arms and crest, although traces of the latter may just be seen beneath the pink flower spray. The decoration is close to the type of enamelling being done in England in the second quarter of the 18th century.
