A group of Chinese Export Armorial Coffee Cups and Saucers Circa 1745, 1760, 1755

comprising: a pair of coffee cups and a saucer with the arms of Gordon; another pair of coffee cups and a saucer with the arms of Crichton impaling Freke; and a coffee cup and saucer with the arms of Poole (?) with Bird in pretence. 8 pieces.

The Gordon saucer: there is a 3/4 inch hairline crack issuing from the rim. The Gordon cups: one has a 1/4 inch chip to the exterior rim. The other has a shallow 1/8 flake chip to the interior rim. The Crichton saucer: There are two hairline cracks, one 3/4 inch, the other 1/2 inch extending from the rim. There are three small restored rim chips, one with an adjacent 1/2 inch haircrack. The Crichton cups: one is in good condition. The other has two areas of restoration to the inner edge of the rim. The enameling on the two cups is quite different from one another. All three pieces have wear to the gilding on the rim edges. The Poole saucer: there is a one inch haircrack, a 1/2 inch haircrack, and several small restored rim chips. Some stacking wear. The Poole cup: there is a small restored chip to the rim above the arms. There is wear to the gilding on the rims on both pieces.
