Condition
The teapot is in good condition. The cover has two small old rim frits and the gilding on the knop is rubbed; there are two small shallow chips to the bottom edge of the flange.

Catalogue Note
Howard, 1974, Vol. I, p. 247, no. E7 illustrates a teapot with these arms which was part of a tea service sold at Sotheby's London, 16th June 1964, lot 317. The present piece is not however the same teapot, although it bears identical arms and identically drawn borders.
