Condition
One has a 1/8 inch chip to the underside of the rim and a few very lightly ground areas to the rim edge. Both have some rubbing to the enamels, particularly noticeable on the bright blue enamel. The other has a lightly ground 1/8 inch chip under the rim edge.

Howard, 1974, Vol. I, p. 273, no. F7 illustrates a plate from this service. The service was made for John Haggard, who was married to Elizabeth Lee. Sir Henry Rider Haggard, the author, is a descendant of this family.
