Victorian brass lamps circa 1895

seven, comprising a pair with faceted stems and tri-form bases, three knopped baluster stem examples, a further foliate example with a gadroon cast drip tray and a boldly cast larger baluster example (7)

The pair with tri-form bases have extensive wear and surface corrosion and have bent out of shape. The remaining lamps all have extensive wear to the surface decoration but are in generally good condition. The wiring will need to be replaced by a qualified electrician before use.

These brass lamps are early examples of electrical lighting and were installed in various state rooms including the Chapel during the mid-1890s. Further examples were supplied to Devonshire House where electricity was also installed in the 1890s.
