- 69cm. high, 77cm. wide, 33cm. deep; 2ft. 3¼in., 2ft. 6¼in., 1ft. 1in.
with a mirrored back and eight oak pigeon holes to the front, the mounts English and probably later
Provenance
Certainley owned by Spencer Compton Cavendish, 8th Duke of Devonshire (1833-1908) but probably acquired earlier.

Chatsworth Inventory, 1905, p.108 in the South-East Sitting Room old French Marqueterie (sic) Louis XV cartonniere (sic) mounted with gilt-metal scrolls and having a mirror at the back. A good piece of this period;

Condition
Good overall condition with some old minor chips and scratches. The mounts are slightly tarnished and the interior surfaces have some stains.
