A set of fifteen crimson silk gilded and painted armorial banners

each panel with painted motto of one of three designs, six a Black Bull and Latin inscription Un Dieu In Roy, six with a Lion, sword and crown, with inscription Fortior Leone Justus, and three with a parrot, and inscription Virtus Scutum, all with the animal or bird above a painted golden circular motif of entwined letters and with a silk Union Jack applied above each painted motif, in the top right corner, along edge with sleeve for holding the pole (15)

Each panel has some minor paint loss to the motifs on each side. They all have fold lines which can be attended to. Crimson silk of most is in good overall condition. Some speckles of dirt, tiny holes in some. The edges vary in condition, some having distressed edges where the sleeves for the supports would have been. The St George flag in corner of one of the Black Bull flag is ripped and lacking in the top corner. Some are distressed on outer corners. Overall they are are in good condition. Unusual group of decorative banners.
