comprising four rectangular Sheffield plate entrée dishes, covers and handles; two lobed oval electroplate entrée dishes, covers and handles, the covers engraved with a coat-of-arms; two electroplate oval heater bases and liners and an electroplate vegetable dish, divider, mazarine and cover, the cover engraved with the Devonshire crest and coronet

The rectangular entrée dishes with knife scratches and general wear commensurate with age, one cover with a 2" dent to the gadrooned rim; oval entrée dishes with scratches and wear to highlights, one cover lacking attachment for the handle and with large area of wear to plated surface; the heater bases with minor denting to rims of liners but otherwise OK; the vegetable dish with surface scratches and wear to plated surface, the divider with a 1.5" split and lacking nut, the cover with some minor dents to rim and one small dent near handle

The arms are those of Cavendish impaling O'Callaghan for Lady Louisa Cavendish (d. 1863), eldest daughter of 1^st Baron Lismore, and widow of Colonel William Cavendish (1783-1812) whom she married on 18 July 1807.
