- 120cm. high; 4ft.
with adjustable components including central brass columnar stem with 'X' shaped mahogany brackets
Literature
Chiswick Inventory 1811, in the Dome Saloon a tellescope [sic] on a brass tripod stand
Condition
William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire (1748-1811).
In good condition. The brass is tarnished. The moving parts will need some attention and lubrication. The X framed mahogany supports are in slightly distressed condition with some section detached and further loses especially to the feet.
The waywiser lacks its dial and mechanism and now consists of the mahogany frame and wheel, distressed and with losses.
