The larger knife box is in good overall condition but with some losses and chips to the molding and losses to the stringing on the back edge. The lid has a veneer patch on the very top and there is a split to the rear of one side. The interior has been removed and is now felt lined which is in poor condition. Chips, marks and scratches and minor veneer losses throughout. The other knife box with a fan inlaid lid has scratches, marks and chips throughout and signs of movement in the wood along the edge between lid and base.
