- each 74cm. high, 91cm. wide, 45cm. deep; 2ft. 5in., 3ft., 1ft. 5¾in.
the kingwood crossbanded foldover top enclosing a baize surface with concave corners and frieze raised on square tapering legs and gates surmounted by oval medallions, with a paper label printed 'Devonshire House 1920', restorations (2)

Probably acquired by by William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire (1748-1811); formerly at Devonshire House and later removed to Chatsworth

Condition
Both tables are somewhat tired and would benefit from some attention. The tops are warped with signs of splitting. TwoThere are losses to veneers throughout and other chips, scratches and a loss to one foot. One table has undergone restoration including replaced front legs, replaced banding to the top and replaced hinges to the rear legs. Both tables are of very elegant shape and are a delightful colour.
