- 68cm. high, 60cm. wide, 44cm. deep; 2ft. 2¾in., 2ft., 1ft. 5¼in.
the shaped edge pierced with twin handles, now mounted on a later mahogany stand with an undertier
Literature
possibly Chatsworth Inventory, 1792, p.55 in the 'Butler's Room'; such trays appear in the 1811 Inventories of Chatsworth, Devonshire House, and Chiswick.
Condition
Good condition, the base of the tray has a split with some fragmentation. One corner has a break and a separation. Further marks and scratches throughout, and a small split to one side. Good shape and colour. The stand is in fair condition, though the joints are loose and there are scuffs, marks, and scratches throughout.
