- 93cm. high, 51.5cm. wide, 75cm. extended; 3ft. ½in., 1ft. 8¼in., 2ft. 5½in.
with red suede treads and gilt-brass mechanism
Condition
Probably ordered by William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire (1748-1811)
Good condition, but signs that the steps have been heavily used over the years. The top tread has holes for hinges suggesting that this ladder formally had an extension. The suede linings are very worn. Wear and scratches throughout.
