Description
- cloth mahogany
- each approx. 103.5cm. high, 97cm. wide; 3ft. 4½in., 3ft. 2¼in.
of plain form, one with Regency stripe patterned silk, the other with red foliate woven fabric together with a further plain red cloth covered example (3)
Condition
Ordered by William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire (1748-1811) for Devonshire House.
The red and white striped example has some separations to its joints. The fabric is distressed and there are losses to the rebate that holds it in place.
The mahogany pair are generally in good order though there are again some separations to the joints. The legs are mishapen. There are variations to the fabric and damage.
