with trellis splats, shaped arms and turned tapering legs, now with seat cushions, some restoration to paint work with inscription to underside of seat rail Painting renovated 5 chairs Feb 1966 A. E Greenwood Chesterfield, both with a paper label printed The Duke's Bed Room

Probably acquired by Lord George Cavendish, 1st Earl of Burlington (of the second creation) or his wife Lady Elizabeth Compton for Compton Place, Eastbourne, Sussex

Condition
Good overall condition but with chips and wear to the painted decoration. One section of trellis has two cracks. Very decorative.
