eleven, comprising a set of seven, decorated with gilt reserves bordered by black lines on a cream ground together with four slightly larger similar chairs with blue, white and black line decoration on a cream ground, some with printed paper labels which include Ladies Maids Room, Chatsworth, and some hand written labels Chatsworth Estates, redecoration, damage to cane (11)

Condition
Acquired by William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire (1748-1811)
The set of seven are all in fair condition. The paintwork is extensively worn and chipped but the frames are sound. Four of the seat have damaged cane work. The set of four chairs are again in fair condition with extensive wear and chips to the paintwork. One chair has splits to the top of one leg, another chair has a repaired break to its back, another chair has woodworm damage and is unstable.Two chairs have damage to the cane work on the seats.
