Condition

Ordered by William Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire (1790-1858) for Devonshire House and Chatsworth where similar lanterns remain in situ Both lanterns will need to be extensively restored before use. One lantern has traces of black painted decoration and has no glass panels or base. The other lantern has one glass panel only. Both lanterns have significant rust and losses.
