  • 250.5cm. high, 97cm. wide; 8ft., 2¾in., 3ft. 2¼in.
with six glazed panels and two fielded panels arranged around a central moulding with a brass handle and with a card label, printed 'HIS GRACE THE DUKE OF DEVONSHIRE, K.G., / Chatsworth, Rowsley Station, M. Ry / Devonshire and in ink, PR doors 54, the door with three brass hinges

Provenance

Ordered by William Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire (1790-1858) as part of the remodelling of Devonshire House by Decimus Burton in the 1840s.

Condition

This door is of high quality, but there is a detached component to one horizontal mullion.
