some restoration needed
The car is in poor cosmetic and possibly structural condition. Rust appears on all four wings and in the lower body groove above the sills. The A-pillars and windscreen surround have been overpainted but seem sound, as do the sills.
Oil and water appear uncontaminated, but it is likely that some considerable work will be needed overall.
The interior is as original and in reasonable condition, but the fascin is damaged.

Catalogue Note
The Triumph Stag came in production in June 1970, the company's first ever V8 powered car, and retained its basic concept until final production in June 1977. The concept is credited to the designer Giovanni Michelotti who wanted a sportier version of the 200 Saloon, and so enlisted the help of Triumph's chief engineer Harry Webster. There are two basic models, the MK I and Mk II; the Mk II being introduced in February 1973.
