Description

  • the longest: 20cm. high, 146cm. long; 8in., 4ft. 9½in. the shorter: 20cm. high, 140.5cm. long; 8in., 4ft. 7in.
each rectangular panel with urn and palmette devices, inscribed in blue chalk to the reverse 'Yellow Room Frieze overdoor North wall and Frieze overdoor, South wall together with three further overdoor components with stepped and reeded decoration (longest 173.5cm.; 5ft. 8in.) possibly ensuite with the panels described above (5)

Condition

The surmounts are both in good condition but would benefit from a clean, and have some light chipping throughout. One panel is slightly warped. The other sections comprise of two cornices and another section of reeded moulding and are in fair/distressed condition with significant losses to the gesso decoration, chipping to the carving and ingrained dirt with some losses.
