Ruby and Diamond Jewel, Circa 1900

designed as a bow set with cushion-shaped ruby and graduating circular-cut diamonds, with white enamelled ties on which is written, 'L'amour en fait le lien', later brooch and pendant fittings.

Translation of the enamelling: 'It is love that binds us together' Ruby a dark red colour, diamonds bright and lively. Repaired with soldering to back, visible to front of brooch, pin slightly bent, small chips to surface of enamel, slight scratches to mount consistent with age and wear. In good condition
