Description

  • wool flat weave, metal-wrapped threads
  • approximately 340cm. high, 107cm. wide; 11ft.1in., 3ft.5in.
woven with central golden strapwork cartouche enclosing a blue cabochon with entwined cipher, with gold and black strapwork surround on a deep claret coloured ground, with border up the left side, top left corner spandrel, and have motifs top right and bottom right edges, reduced in width

Condition

Hooks at the top and lined with deep red wool. Very good overall condition. With gold ribbon braid applied to inner right side, and large section of mauve edging on the left side, with gold at the bottom.
