- Belouch Rug approximately 163 by 94cm., 5ft. 4in., 3ft. 1in. (illustrated)
walnut ground with a lattice enclosing terracotta hooked guls within an ivory hatch-motif border, with label numbered 01147 in one corner, and with label marked Chatsworth, in ink along side in other corner; together with a woven stripped camel rug, Turkey, late 19th/early20th century, comprised of two joined vertical panels, with bobble fringe at both ends (230 by 110cm; 7ft. 6in., 3ft. 7in.) (not illustrated); and with a Belouch rug, Iran, 20th century (212 by 102cm; 6ft. 11in., 3ft. 4in.) (not illustrated) (3)
Condition
Belouch rug, East Persia: (163 by 94cm., 5ft. 4in., 3ft. 1in) .Flat weave. Holes at ends and distressed section and area missing half way down one side. Fair pile, with areas of foundation showing, especially in central area. Deep banded guards, with fringes. Overcast sides.
Woven stripped Camel Rug, Turkey: (230 by 110cm; 7ft. 6in., 3ft. 7in.); good overall condition.
Belouch rug, Iran: (212 by 102cm; 6ft. 11in., 3ft. 4in.) even pile, approx. 2mm. Sides re-overcast with red wool, with modern plastic loosely stitched up sides for extra strength, with cotton fringe both ends, with ends overlocked. Staining to fringing top end.
