Description
- Iron and oak
- 68½cm. high, 92cm. wide, 57cm. deep; 2ft. 2½in., 3ft., 1ft. 8¾in.; 58cm. high, 94cm. wide, 60cm. deep; 1ft. 9in., 3ft. 1in., 1ft.
with domed tops and side carrying handles, the front of each with a with brass plaque engraved HIS GRACE / THE DUKE OF DEVONSHIRE / No. 9 and No. 2, and numbered 9 and 17 both stamped R. A. SPROULE, OTTAWA, CANADA, with removable trays (2)
Condition
Both chests are in good solid condition though scuffed and marked throughout. The iron work has losses to its painted decoration and slight signs of corrosion. The fitted interiors are worn and in need of some attention.
