Description

Condition

Upper end approximately 18 inches rewoven including borders and 5 inches of field; Lower end border with a 1 foot x 4 inch stepped reweave; otherwise lower end with remnants of original flatwoven finish. A few small scattered reweaves, not serious. Minor repiling in lower end border. Pile ranges from 1/8 inch to low to knotheads due to foldwear and oxidation. Sides with partially original 4 cord wool selvages, now some redone, some with fraying. Very supple handle, lustrous wool and luminous color; sound fabric and condition.
