Ehtesham ol-Molk was the title of Jalaleddine Mirza, a son of Khanlar Mirza who was a commander of Nasser al-Din Shah's forces during the Anglo-Persian war, and then governor of Isphahan.

Condition

Pile generally good, near original 1/10 inch throughout with very minor areas low to knotheads due to surface wear (not serious.) Sides with original mauve silk selvages with slight fraying. Ends missing outer guard stripe and fraying slightly, both ends secured with binding stitch. Polychrome silk warps, ivory silk wefts. Please note that a license may be required to export textiles, rugs and carpets of Iranian origin from the United States. Clients should enquire with the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regarding export requirements. Pease check with the Carpet department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to this restriction or if you need assistance with such enquiries Very supple handle, good overall condition.
