A pair of "Curious George" books, inscribed by the Reys with charming drawings of George by H.A. Rey that relate to the title of each book.



Curious George Flies a Kite. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1958. Fifth printing. Publisher's blue cloth lettered and decorated on front cover in cream ink, spine lettered in cream ink, pictorial dust-jacket; extremities of dust-jacket frayed, with some losses to spine,  and with some soiling and age discoloration. Inscribed on the verso of the front free endpaper "To Joan, Timmy, | & Kevin | with best wishes from their friends, | The Reys | August 13, 1967" with an ink and pastel crayon drawing of George flying a kite. — Curious George Learns the Alphabet. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1963. Publisher's grey cloth lettered and decorated in teal ink on front cover, lettered in teal ink on the spine, pictorial endpapers; juvenile doodles in purple crayon on front cover. Pictorial dust-jacket; wome wear to extremities, splits along spine. Fourth printing. Inscribed "For Tim | with best wishes from H. A. Rey" with an ink and pastel crayon drawing of George happily marching with a pen in one hand and a sheet of paper in the other.
