Penn, William

Document on parchment signed ("Wm Penn"), (8 x 14 1/2 in.; 200 x 370 mm),  accomplished in a secretarial hand, [London], 12 April 1686, being an indenture for the sale of 3,000 acres in Pennsylvania for 100 pounds to John Skoon and John Swinton of Scotland, with an annual quit-rent of one shilling for every 100 acres, with Penn's signet seal attached to a vellum tab at the bottom of the document; seal nicely preserved, verso age-darkened, traces of cloth mounts on verso.
