Catalogue Note
Orders from the Spanish Campaign. Napoleon informs General Clarke he has returned all his correspondence regarding the Army of Spain. He then gives instructions to Clarke to take special care to have put in the newspapers the "Moniteur" heading "Article de Paris" accounts of the different affairs, particularly those of the Asturias. Napoleon notes Clarke must only change the reports of the generals to ensure one does not know the number of troops they actually have in place. He closes his letter praying God keeps Clarke in His holy guard.
