8-page autograph draft manuscript alphabet in limericks with revisions, 8vo (8 x 6 1/4 in.; 204 x 160 mm), 2 calligraphic frontispieces infilled with color and liquid gold, 3 pen-and-ink titles, 26 calligraphic leaves of the alphabet in limericks (14 in ink, 12 in pencil) accompanied by 53 pen-and-ink illustrations many with colored washes, mostly signed in initials ("G.L.



JD."), all inlaid in an album, oblong 4to (9 1/4 x 12 7/8 in.; 235 x 328 mm); face in last plate redrawn on a paste-over slip. Contemporary red morocco, gilt dentelles, gilt-stamped title on spine, a.e.g.; extremities rubbed.
