Catalogue Note

Gustavus Brander was a famous antiquarian, and the radical Thomas Brand Hollis was a correspondent of both Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, and was suspected of aiding the publication of Paine's Rights of Man. Nichols, in his Literary Anecdotes, mentions that only 250 copies were printed.
