  • Sixteenth-century manuscript recipe book in German
including recipes for soups, fish, pastry, meals for invalids, cakes ("Mandelküchli"), offal, wine, roast meat, unguents and salves



c. 80 pages, 4to (197 x 155mm), the first 15 pages paginated by the scribe, with a few seventeenth- and eighteenth-century additions, bound in a fragment of a medieval manuscript on vellum, with remains of vellum ties, fitted modern box, dated on page [55] 1593, without a title-page; together with an early twentienth-century German cookery manuscript by Frau Thalmessinger, largely carbon typescript with some manuscript additions (2)
