Thèse de doctorat en médecine, désormais classique, de Jacques Lacan (1901-1981), dernier grand interprète de la pensée freudienne. À travers le cas d'une patiente connue sous le nom d'Aimée, il soutient une approche qui prend en compte la personnalité concrète du sujet. Il emprunte déjà quelques-uns des concepts cliniques de Freud.
