Catalogue Note
Piranèse avait 28 ans lorsqu'il fit paraître cette suite. La première partie est consacrée à Rome et la seconde à des vues de diverses antiquités d'Italie.
D'après Focillon, Piranèse n'aurait pas tout dessiné d'après nature, pour preuve les deux planches n° 13 et 14 gravées d'après Israël Silvestre.
