L'un des quatre traités les plus estimés de Paul Manuce sur les antiquités. L'édition est donnée par son fils, Alde le Jeune. D'après Renouard, les mots Ab Aldo dans le colophon (Romae CIC.IC.XXCV Ab Aldo. Typis Francisci Zannetti) signifient que Zannetti a imprimé ce livre qu'Alde le Jeune a financé et publié à l'occasion de l'élection du pape Sixte V.
